The six key principles of the National Home Awards

The Trophy

A National Home Awards Trophy is the accolade to win. As such it was key for the trophy to reflect the key elements of the Awards themselves, that of style, function, flair, innovation, quality and value.

We sought to create a beautiful piece of design which would reflect the Awards and the nature of the Home Interest Market and set to task key designers to create and manufacture a unique piece which in itself best reflected design for the home.

We commissioned designer Coretta Van Wijk, a designer in glass to design The National Home Awards Trophy. The simple design best reflects the elements which make the Great British Home. Coretta’s knowledge of glass and glass manufacture led us to Glass Design, a premium manufacturer of glass innovation based in Greenwich, South East London, to produce the individual pieces of bonded glass through which elements of light and colour blend to reflect the Award’s key elements.

The Trophies were then sent to France to Sky Design’s Paris workshop, to be individually tailored with holographic style engravings embedded deep into the glass, cleverly detailing the winner of each category and championing excellence in the creation of outstanding homes.
