The six key principles of the National Home Awards

CLICK HERE FOR THIS YEAR'S JUDGES

The judging for The National Home Awards will be divided between the Awards decided by expert judging panels, and the five Awards voted for by the general public via the web site and readers of Ideal Home and The Daily Telegraph.

Judging will constitute a three-stage process. Initially a completed Entry Application Form will be required with any supporting evidence that is requested to back up the application. The entries will then be scored by a judging panel who will select five finalists in each category. The finalists will then be invited to make a presentation before a separate panel of judges, who will then make their decision on the overall winner.

Every entry will be judged against the six key criteria of The National Home Awards:

  • Style
  • Flair
  • Function
  • Innovation
  • Quality
  • Value

The eventual winners will be recognised for their embodiment of these characteristics.

The same key criteria will be applied to the selection of the finalists of the five Award categories that will go forward to a public vote. However the winner will be determined by the results of a web vote hosted on The National Home Awards web site.

The categories that go forward to a public vote are: Home Retailer of the Year, DIY Retailer of The Year, Gardenof the Year, The Home Project of the Year and The Home of the Year.

Please note the judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging.
