Who Should Enter?
Open to consumers who have either renovated an existing property or completed a self-build project from scratch, with or without the help of experts, and are living in the property. The project needs to have been completed by 31 July 2004, and started no earlier than January 2000. The category is not open to commercial developers, must be in the UK and must be the primary or secondary residence of the owners.
 
What the Judges will be looking for
The process of achieving the build and the final result. Key judging criteria are design; flair; function; innovation - both in build and in approach to problem solving; quality; and budget, including budget control.
 
Entry Process
Written application supported with portfolio of plans and photographs. Successful finalists will be asked to make a presentation on the project. Readers of Ideal Home magazine will also be invited to cast their votes for the finalists.
