Ms Scott
Edinburgh

When creating my home I had varies things to consider.Firstly being a single mother of three children I wanted our home to have a good secure relaxing feeling to it ,easy to keep but exciting and dimensional in colour and texture. Having good Karma around us has kept our home alive and happy.

The main living room has a soft aubergine chalk finish on the walls and natural black sheep wool carpet, oversized sofa and bean bags,to lounge on. This leads into the kitchen dinning area separated using large glass sliding doors that are decorated with orchids and a translucent turquoise texture. They create a feeling of open space and flow, although giving opportunity to section off the areas when necessary.I use bowls of vegetables and fruit to add an organic feel to the smooth stainless steel units and compliment the oak wood back slash.

The antique Chinese armoire,1920 's dinning table and Victorian balloon backed chairs contrast the contemporary fittings. One of the architectural changes was adding a stair to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

.Both bathrooms are fitted with Stark furniture and have smooth river stones as flooring.Dimmer switches and music speakers throughout  subtly change the mood of different areas .My sitting room has a serene colour scheme and a Curopea wood floor ,and a gas  effect fire is for quick simple warmth.

The contemporary sofas are arranged around a special table which I had  made from a mother of pearl encrusted door found in Bali.
